MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Uwan, which weakened over the West Philippine Sea, will leave the country either Monday night or early Tuesday morning, but it may reenter on Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday.
“It may reenter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday evening as it makes landfall over the southwestern coast of Taiwan, resulting in further weakening,” Pagasa chief Nathaniel Servando said. “Then Uwan will quickly exit PAR for good,” Servando said.
In its 11a.m. bulletin, Pagasa said that Signal No. 3 was up over Ilocos Sur, the northern and central portions of La Union, and the northwestern portion of Pangasinan, while Signal No. 2 was hoisted in Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Ilocos Norte and the rest of La Union.
