MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Saturday that Typhoon “Uwan” intensified further, as it moved closer to the Bicol Region.
As of 11 p.m., the weather bureau said that the center of the eye of “Uwan” was 380 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes, with maximum sustained winds of 155 km per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 190 kph as it moved west- northwestward at 35 kph, with strong to typhoon-force winds extending outwards up to 800 km from the center.
